Kenyan Talent Stars In GUINNESS’ New Global Football Campaign

(5th September; KENYA] Guinness has unveiled a new campaign to appreciate the current English Premier League season. The latest campaign dubbed ‘Made of Football’ celebrates passionate football fans across the continent and the lengths they go to, to show their love for the game.

Filmed in Kenya using local talent, the ‘Made of Football’ advert brings to life the passion that is unique to Kenya and shows we have the most dedicated and vibrant football fans in the world. Included in the cast is home grown talent Peter Nzioka who plays in the Kenyan National Amputee Football squad. Peter’s role in the ad brings to life how nothing can stand in the way of truly passionate fans. Previous to appearing in the campaign, Peter was part of the inspirational Kenyan team that represented their country in the Amputee Football World Cup in Culican, Mexico, 2014.

The track behind the TV ad was created by Grammy award winning musical group Konono No1 from Kinshasa, DRC. The group combine three electric likembé, a traditional instrument similar to the mbira, with vocals and instruments that have been made from items salvaged in a junkyard.

Furthermore, the TV ad is the very first from Guinness anywhere in the world to include a female voiceover narrating the story. Featuring a female voiceover, Guinness shows how football unites every fan behind their passion for the game.

Commenting on the new campaign Samuel Wasswa, Marketing Manager Guinness, Pilsner and Portfolio Beers said, ‘This year we are showing even greater support for the incredible football fans across the country. Unlike anywhere else in the world, football has the power right here in Kenya to unite people. Guinness is an iconic beer that has the darkest liquid, but the brightest flavours and has always had the authenticity, boldness and vision to do things differently. This year with the ‘Made of Football’ campaign we will be providing exciting experiences for football fans up and down the country, whether that be incredible prizes and competitions or unique viewing experiences and maybe a few surprises along the way.’

Made of Black is part of the highly successful global GUINNESS® Made of More™ campaign which has been running for over four years now.

Guinness is a proud sponsor of SuperSport’s English Premier League broadcast, over the coming months there will be a series of exciting initiatives from Guinness to help reward and inspire football fans.
