Kipsang throws hat in the ring as he prepares to vie for the Keiyo South parliamentary seat

Wilson Kipsang, the London bronze Olympic holder has expressed interest to join politics.
Kipsang yesterday declared his interest in vying for the Keiyo South parliamentary seat.
Kipsang, will be trying to emulate his fellow athlete and currently the Cherangany Member of Parliament, Wesley Korir who successfully vied and won the parliamentary seat in 2013.
The first thing the soft spoken athlete hopes to achieve for his constituents is to fight graft and spur development.
he told KTN.
 
However even has kipsang hope to trade off his running gear for the parliamentary suit, he has indicated he will keep on championing the rights of athletes, by tabling water tight policies to safeguard athletes.
The dark stoic athlete was born in 15th march 1982, in Keiyo district.
His best achievement includes being a holder of the 6th quickest time in the half marathon category, with a time of 58:59 minutes.
His best time for full marathon races is 2:04:57 which puts him in the top ten best marathon achievers.
 
Kipsang began his athletics career by participating in the Tegla Loroupe Peace Race in the 10 kilometre race where he finished in the second position.
In 2007 he became a professional international runner and participated in the Tilburg Ten Miles where he finished second with a time of 46:27.
Kipsang is expected to face off with the current MP for Keiyo South, Jackson Kiptanui.
