Leading insurer launches emergency accident cover that goes for only Ksh.70

Resolution Insurance has launched a new insurance cover targeting commuters that goes for Ksh. 70 only.
This new product is an affordable accident emergency cover for commuters in public service vehicles.
Resolution Ziara Plan was launched early this week at the Annual Matatu Owners Delegation Conference.
It goes for innovative ways in terms of positioning, pricing and distribution. The cover will be sold at designated PSV terminus getting to the clients directly.
Upon purchase of the cover, customers will receive a wrist band which has a unique serial number. The serial number is activated by making payment through mobile money service such as M-PESA.
Speaking during the function Peter Nduati the Resolution Group CEO lauded the product for its innovativeness as well as ability to cater for work the vulnerable bracket in the society.
“The Resolution Ziara Plan is an innovative approach to ensure that commuters are able to access quality medical care in the unfortunate event of a road accident.”
“Many families are forced to turn to their savings whenever a relative is involved in an accident. This relatable situation can however be avoided with affordable insurance propositions that cater for vulnerable sections of the population such as PSV passengers.”
 
The cover takes care of accidental emergency medical treatment including ambulance services up to Kshs.150,000 and a Last Expense Benefit of Kshs. 30,000.
It is valid for 24 hours and the emergency admission will be catered for up to 48 hours or upon exhaustion of the limit.
 
With Kenyan among the countries with the highest number of accidents in the world, Resolution Insurance feels confident about the suitability and convenience of its product.
The challenge is now to convince a market that has never placed insurance as among the priorities.
