Since Cheryl Kitonga was exposed as the woman in Jacob Juma’s company the night that he was shot, there has been a raging debate about sponsors.

There are those who argue that side pieces/ clandes should be like the Loch Ness Monster, heard of frequently but rarely seen and should not even bother showing up at their sponsor’s burial.

While others believe that if it is a case of two consenting adults then the young ladies can have a sponsor. There are those who are completely opposed to ladies having a sponsor and accuse the young ladies of being lazy home wreckers.

Shaffie Weru on the other hand believes that ladies should be allowed to have a sponsor since and aging Mzee Jomo Kenyatta married Mama Ngina after she had just turned18.
