Look at What This Pilot who Once Landed a Plane in a River and Saved over 150 Lives has Had to Go Through. Why are Humans so Ungrateful?

Let’s say you happen to be a pilot and one day during your line of duty something out of the blues happens. Immediately after takeoff at JKIA with over 150 passengers on board, something messes up with the engines and they stop running. What would you do?

Would you panic, inform the passengers of the immediate disaster and then sit there and wait for the gods to take charge or would you think on your feet to try and save the passengers? That predicament recently fell upon a certain plot but he did the latter, crashed the plane in water and in turn saved all the crew and passengers on board.

Now when someone does something that extraordinary, you would expect that he would be recognized as a national hero, given a huge lump sum by the government and a least given a monument in a major part of town if not a National holiday.

Well unfortunately for the pilot in question, he encountered the exact opposite. His turned out to be one of the most grotesque scenarios ever witnessed which ended up putting his family, reputation and job in jeopardy.

This pilot is none other but veteran US Airways Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger who aboard US Airways Flight 1549 departing from LaGuardia Airporttook off and barely 3 minutes after being on air hits a flock of Canadian geese who interfere with the engine of the Airbus A 320. He is forced to land his ill-fated airliner in the frigid waters of theHudson River. With 155 passengers and crew on board, and against immeasurable odds, successfully ditches the aircraft, sparing the lives of the crew and passengers where he is dubbed a hero by the press for his actions. But not for long as the same press works through day and night to make his life a living hell.

Now this interesting story which happened in January, 2009 in the States has been brought back to life in a blockbuster movie which stars Tom Hanks,  Aaron EckhartLaura LinneyAnna Gunn amid other high profile thespians and I want to give you a chance to watch it with your friends this coming Friday at I Max Kenya with a ticket only going for only 400 bob.

Just head on to Jumia Market to purchase a ticket and if you manage to tag along 10 of your friends, then be lest assured you will also be getting a bottle of Jameson.

Trust me the weekend can’t get any better.
