Lupita Nyong’o Hits Global Headlines Once Again! This Is What She Has Done

Mark September 29 to November 8. Done? Good.

Celebrated international Kenyan actress Lupita Nyongo is once again expected to hit global news when she will be taking to stage in a debut appearance at New York later this year where she will star in a play set amid the horrors of the Liberian civil war.

Forget her out-of-this-world performance in the film 12 Years A Slave, Lupita is set for stardom once again as the public theatre in Manhattan announced that the daughter to Senator Anyang Nyong’o will be appearing as from September 29 to November 8.

“Exciting news: I am getting back to the STAGE! This Fall, catch me at The Public Theater for my New York debut in Danai Gurira’s play, ECLIPSED, directed by Liesl Tommy. SEPT 29TH to NOV 8TH,” Lupita announced.

Nyong’o, 32, will play “The Girl” in what the theatre called “a powerful story of survival and resilience” about women finding and testing their own strength in a hostile world, Daily Nation reports.

The play involves captive wives of a rebel officer bonding together to form a community before their lives are interrupted by the arrival of a new girl.

The play was written by Zimbabwean-American actress Danai Gurira.
