Lupita Nyong’o’s 12 Year A Slave Finally Comes to Nairobi. Here’s Where to Catch it

Following her huge success in Hollywood thanks to her role in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave, Kenyans can now have a feel of the movie that propelled Lupita Nyong’o to the great heights. The movie shall be officially screened in Kenya on Friday 24 January at Century Cinemax, The Junction.

“I’d felt, like many other people, that because of the significance of the film to us, it would be a disservice not to have it shown here. We want to appreciate Lupita’s work,” says Nairobi Half Life actor,Mugambi Nthiga who first shared the news of the film’s local debut on Twitter.

Crimson Multimedia is the team responsible for having the film brought home. Citing issues with South African distributors that caused them to miss the lucrative December window, MD Jayesh Patel was still looking forward to showing the film to a local audience, reports africamagic.dstv

Like all other films, 12 Years A Slave shall have a two-week run at Century Cinemax. However, Jay stated that it could be longer if demand for the film rose beyond that period.
