Meet the 19-year old Music Star Who is Slowly Shaking the Industry

At only 19 years old, Eric Thomas Mugendi, who is popularly known as African Prince, is living like true royalty and even winning accolades right left and center.

The zealous St Paul’s University student first came to the limelight after local blogs did a story of how a little known video vixen was falsely accusing him of sleeping with her and also, failing to pay her for her video services.

This story, according to African Prince, almost wrecked him and destroyed his nascent career but he soon managed to debunk her lies and expose her for the filthy, lying tramp she was

In an exploitative country whose biggest musical stars pay as little as Ksh 1,000 to the video girls, African Prince decided to multiply that number by seven and paid all of the five gorgeous babes who appeared in his video for Milele some cool Ksh 7000 each.

No local artist has topped that yet. Not even the biggest stars with the Number One song on radio!

“I had set aside a budget of around 40,000 just for the video girls. Just to pay them. And we haven’t even gone into the other aspects and logistics of having them on set and what not. I believe that quality work but be remunerated handsomely. For better results… ,” he says.

From there, African Prince, who by the way is the reigning Mr St Paul’s University, went on to splash a staggering Ksh 150,000 for his music video.

” The song was recorded by Dr. Eddie and the video handled by him too. We shot it along Kiambu Road and used the best video cameras in town. It was a very financially draining project but I’m glad I’m seeing the results and the fruits. You can’t compromise on quality “, adds the handsome singer with a shy smile and perfect, chiseled pop star face.

Oh, he forgot to say that the song’s in the latest 4k quality! Yeah, right!

Already, the song has been racking up mad views on YouTube and earning the artist even more recognition and adoration from girls.

He’s also been on several TV stations on music shows to promote and hype up the record to a bigger audience.

“It’s been a wild ride. A roller-coaster. Like a dream…. I am excited and riled up for the beautiful times ahead, “ says the silky-voiced, charming crooner.

The song was actually voted Number 3 on the Kiss TV countdown right behind Diamond’s infectious Salome last week.

Oh, and just so you know, Coastal RnB star Otile Brown penned the chorus to this song…All the more reason why you need to listen to it. And replay it like ten times a day for the next few weeks.
