Mercy Masika to build Kes 20 million school in Pokot

The flourishing gospel singer has embarked on a multimillion shillings project in one the most marginalized areas in Kenya.

When Pokot is mentioned, the next thing that strikes your mind is probably drought, cattle rustling and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Mercy Masika is on a mission of bringing change in Pokot through education, the “Mwema” hit maker has lay out plans to construct a nursery school, primary and secondary school.

The gospel songstress needs a whopping Kes 20 million for her ambitious project in Pokot to see the light of day.

Mercy revealed the Pokot community had already given her land to set up the learning facility.

“We thank God for all the blessings. People of Pokot have already given us a piece of Land. So we will be rolling out the project as soon as we get enough money. We need like Ksh 20 million for the whole project since we are setting up a full institution that will include a nursery school, primary and secondary school,” Mercy said.
