Tagbo and Olu’s Deaths Inspired FIA- Davido on his Most Touching Song

Davido says FIA is the song that touches him most.

Towards the end of last year, singer, Davido had it rough as he lost some of his friends within a short time. This had sparked some controversies as people decided to drag him by accusing him of these deaths.

Tagbo, who died first, was the one that sparked the most controversy as his then girlfriend, who is an actress, Caroline Danjuma, decided to blatantly hold the crooner responsible for the death.

Well, having being vindicated by the Police, Davido immediately went on to drop a single which became a hit.

In a recent interview with Pause, a UK magazine, the singer has however, revealed the inspiration behind the song. According to him, the deaths of his friends, Tagbo and DJ Olu, were what inspired the song. He added that FIA is the song that touches him the most.

Excerpts below;

There’s one that I wrote about two of my friends who died, that was ‘FIA.’”

On venturing into music, he said:

“I’ve always liked it, I kind of fell into music through some friends who were doing music, and then I used to follow my cousin to the studio and stuff and from there, it started.”

On the struggles he faced in getting into the industry, he also said:

” I would say I was one of the lucky ones, the first time I ever recorded and dropped that got big, that was the first song I ever recorded, started blowing up.”

Let’s cast our minds back to FIA

In case you’ve never thought of it, the part of the song that asks Caroline (who acts) to save her drama, is actually referring to someone. Think of it, a certain Caroline accused him of murder, and now he is saying Caroline should save her drama. He obviously does not need it for soap opera. Davido certainly did a nice job with FIA.
