Papa Shirandula’s Kawira Reveals Why Marriage Life Was Hard for Her at First

After dating for close to four years, Papa Shirandula actress Joy Karambu (Kawira) tied the knot with her love Ephantus Wahome at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).

Joy admits that after the wedding, she found marriage difficult at first before she settled in. Speaking to E Daily, Kawira said that the early stages of her marriage were hard because she had not been raised by a man and with boys around. (She was raised by a single mum after her father passed away and she has no brothers)

“I was wondering why my husband was telling me what to do; why we should go to church together; why I couldn’t go to my mum’s place the way I wanted; why I couldn’t hook up with my friends the way I used to; basically why were things changing? At my parents’ house, I wasn’t cooking since I was the last born – so I was thrown into a world where I had to cook every day.” She disclosed.

She however got the hang of it all and resorted to submitting to her husband Epahantus Wahome. She then went on to encourage women to be more submissive when it comes to marriage. According to her, being submissive does not mean that a woman is lesser than a man; it just enables a man to fulfill all her needs after submission.
