There’s no denying that talent runs deep in some of Kenya’s showbiz most famous family dynasties. From the Kaggia’s and the Longombas’, to the Rabar’s (Homeboyz owners) and the Mwatia’s (Daddy Owen, Rufftone, Fidel), it seems some of the most beloved singers and actors often produce stars of their own.

By and large, when one kid in a family gets into showbiz, the others are often soon to follow. I think there are many reasons for this, but that which I strongly believe is that once one is famous, it can naturally open doors for their siblings that would have otherwise remained shut. I also think that it makes directors’ work easier; instead of having to go through rigorous auditions they can just ask an actor/TV personality to call their bro or sis.

TV is clearly is the blood of the Ohon family. In fact 4 out of the 5 members of the cute family are on TV;

Father: Donald Ohon is a professional actor in various TV commercials. But I’m sure most of you would remember him from the ‘Faulu Kenya’ TVC as Musa Faulu.

Mother: Rosy Ohon is Gospel Music performing and recording artist who has won the hearts of many with her music

Daughter: Joy Maranatha plays “Joy” in award-winning Citizen TV show, Machachari.

 

Daughter: Imani Hadassah, the last born is the charming baby girl in the Oreo cookie TVC.
