Pinky, Patricia Kihoro, Lorna Irungu, Mali’s Usha & More to Take Part in the Vagina Monologues Today

The annual celebration of women and feminism takes place today.

The V-Day Nairobi Committee and the Arts Canvas brings you this year’s Vagina Monologues. It takes place this Thursday, 28th February at the Michael Joseph Centre (Safaricom House) on Waiyaki Way from 6:30 p.m.

The tickets go for Kshs. 2,000 and are available at Vivo at the Junction Mall (ground floor), Bookstop at Yaya Centre (2nd Floor), Sarit Centre Information Desk (Ground Floor), ticketsasa.com or via MPesa (0707 305365).

This year’s edition’s cast members include Pinky Ghelani, Savane Kemoli, Aleya Kassam, Lorna Irungu, Wanuri Kahiu, June Gachui, Patricia KihoroSuzanne GachukiaMumbi KaigwaKaz, Patricia Amira, Mkamzee Mwatela, Seroun Wang’ombe, Njeri Ngugi, Lorna Dias, Hawa EssumanChichi Seii and Mo Pearson.

Created by Eve Ensler in 1996, Vagina Monologues is an episodic reading of various aspects of the feminine experience on issues such as “sex, love, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation, masturb*tion, birth, org*sm, the various common names for the vag*na, or simply as a physical aspect of the body.”
