POLL: These Are The Most Watched TV Stations In Kenya

The Kenyan media industry has expanded significantly in the recent past with TV stations taking centre stage in bringing Kenyans up to date with the latest happenings.

The competition in this market is becoming even a more exciting one with the shift to digital migration, a platform gives blossoming TV stations a chance to reach out to many a viewer, effectively increasing and expanding competition.

But before this is completely achieved, four major TV stations take centre stage at the moment in Kenya. These include KTN, NTV, Citizen TV, K24 and KBC.

And these are the TV stations that feature significantly in a recent research conducted by Ipsos Synovate, a research organization based in Lavington, Nairobi.

In the latest research, Ipsos asked Kenyans to mention their favourite TV stations.

Despite the intriguing series of exposes, KTN came a distant second with 14% of those interviewed saying they prefer the station over others.

The first position was scooped by Citizen TV, with 63% of the interviewees saying it is their favourite TV station so far. The gap between Citizen TV and KTN tells it all that it needs a lot of time for the RMS-owned TV station to relinquish the top spot.

NTV came third with 9% of respondents saying they are highly attracted to the Nation Media Group-owned TV station.

K24 and KBC shared the spoils in 4th position with 4% of the respondents saying they value the two stations.

3% of the respondents say they prefer other TV stations.
