Prolific Writer/Author Marjorie Oludhe MaCgoye Dies.

She will be best remembered by most of you by her book “Coming To Birth” 

Marjorie, a person of letters passed on at her Ngara home yesterday, becoming the third prolific female writer to pass on after Grace Ogot Margaret Ogolla and Asenath Odanga,

Coming to Birth was for almost 5 years a set book in Kenyan schools and had actually won the Sinclair Prize for fiction in 1986. She also authored Homing In-a profound work detailing the aspects of a modern Kenya, coping with the changing times and the position of a woman in the society. 

She has also Authored other books, among them; Growing Up In Lina School, A farm Called Kinishev, Black Hand Gand and Creative Writing in Prose.
