End of the road for Club 808

Etv has pulled the plug on popular music show, Club 808. This is after seven years of having the show.

The news was announced on Friday’s episode of Club 808.

“Club 808‘s final episode will air on e.tv on Friday, March 30 at 4.25pm. The show will conclude with a special episode showcasing the talent and hosts that have graced the show since its premiere,” Michael Pocock, e.tv’s publicist said.

“We would like to thank the presenters of Club 808, all the talent that have featured on the show and Red Pepper Pictures for an entertaining seven years on e.tv.”

Last year, time slots for the show changed, to give more time for Days of Our Lives. Then, the broadcaster dismissed any speculation that this was due to dwindling viewership.

Presenter

Bontle Modiselle, the current presenter, thanked fans for their love and support throughout the journey.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure entertaining those who watched, and I’ll do so for the remainder of season, and hereafter. Thank you for your support.”

On Instagram, she wrote: “One of the coolest chapters of my life… And what a great run it was! Sincerely, thank you to everyone who watched, loved or supported the show. It’s been beautiful! We have one last stretch together – let’s make it one to remember. 4 more weeks (episodes) to go, at 16:25pm from next week on eTV.”
