‘Inxeba’ actor Bongile Mantsai lands new role in boxing film

Bongile Mantsai’s acting role in Inxeba has opened doors for him in the acting industry. He has now scored a new lead role in a local boxing film known as Knuckle City.
The movie is about the life of boxing in the Eastern Cape township.
In the film, Mantsai plays the role of Dudu Nyakama, a struggling boxer.
“Dudu finds himself frustrated because promoters seem to be fond of the young boxers. He is 37-years-old and he feels that he still has it.
“His family owned a boxing club in Mdantsane and it was taken away. He is trying to get it back.”
Mantsai is honored to work with boxing trainers in East London, where the film is being shot.
“Despite such problems, young people in Mdantsane still want to be part of this sport and hope that they will be [boxing] stars one day.”
