Lerato Kganyago leaves Live AMP

After two years on Live AMP, Lerato Kganyago has resigned. She released a statement where she thanked SABC1 and Urban Brew for the opportunity and thanked her co host DJ Warras.

Resignation letter

In her statement, Lerato wrote: “Co-hosting Live AMP has been the most incredible and fulfilling ride of my entertainment career thus far. However two years in the same spot is a little too long for a Soweto girl like me who is always looking for a new challenge. I will forever be indebted to SABC1 and Urban Brew for allowing me the unparalleled opportunity to showcase my talents on the country’s premium music entertainment offering.”

Her last appearance will be on May 18th.

Her producers have also sent their best wishes to her.

And it’s nothing but well wishes from the show’s producers and the SABC’s public relations team.

“It was an absolute pleasure watching Lerato grow with the Live Amp brand. Her love and passion for entertainment kept her grounded throughout her stay. She will no doubt make a success of anything she chooses to take on,” said Akhumzi Jezile, the show’s producer.

“Her commitment to the show is evident in her recent Safta win,” added Zandile Nkonyeni, the head of public relations for SABC TV. “We are grateful that as a public broadcaster we have contributed immensely to her television career and are proud to have had Lerato as part of the Live Amp family. We wish her well and we would like to thank her for her commitment to Live Amp and SABC1 over the years.”
