Rapper Siyabonga Nene Spends Night In Jail

Brentwood ambassador and rapper Siyabonga Nene spent a night in jail last week. He was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend and baby mama.

He is now facing an assault charge.

Siyabonga allegedly grabbed his baby mama by the throat and threw her on the floor thrice.

He was thus picked up by the police and spent a night in jail before appearing in court the following day.

Siyabonga’s baby mama has since said this was the first time he laid hands on her. He was however always aggressive whenever they had their arguments.

“The problem started two weeks ago when I confronted him. He was sitting outside with his friends and two girls. I called him to the side and asked him who the girls were. That was not the first time [I found him hanging around with strange women]. I asked him because I needed to know why he keeps doing that and disregarding my feelings. He got aggressive but that time he walked away,” she said.

She was battling depression and had even attempted suicide by trying to overdose on pills with alcohol.

“I sent him a message to tell him it was not worth it anymore, however, he rushed home and found me before I overdosed on the pills.”

Gauteng police spokesperson captain Lungelo Dlamini confirmed a cause of assault was opened and the accused appeared at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court on Friday.
