No more fuel guzzlers! Imagine senior most government officials snatched their Mercedes and Prados and given Vitz and Probox. How will their big bellies fit in a Vitz surely???

President John Pombe Magufuli is making life harder for members of his cabinet and other senior government officials.

Magufuli’s punitive austerity measures have extended to vehicles used by senior government officials. The Tanzanian president has ordered all senior government officials to use Toyota Vitz, Probox and other brands of low maintenance cars, to curb wastage of government money.

The Bongo president further directed that all government owned fuel guzzlers to be auctioned and the money directed to public kitty.

Tanzanian ambassadors in foreign countries and their Chief Justice, have also affected by President Magufuli’s directive.

How I wish President Uhuru could borrow a leaf from Magufuli. Surely all those government guzzlers are a headache to taxpayers!
