Shove off Classic 105! Citizen Radio & Radio Jambo are Still the Radio Stations to Beat

I hear most people argue that Classic 105 is the biggest radio station in the country but according to the latest report, Classic is the 10th most listened to radio stations in Kenya. Not that I have anything against the most popular radio station in Nairobi but numbers simply don’t lie.

According to the KARF report released this week for the last quarter of 2013 (Q4), Citizen Radio is neck and shoulder above all the radio stations in Kenya and is followed at a distant second by Radio Jambo then Q FM.

Citizen Radio boasts of over 12.5 million listeners weekly alone while Radio Jambo gets 7.2 million listeners. Meanwhile, Q FM’s weekly reach stands at 6.1 million listeners.

Citizen is still the radio station to beat with 60% market share while Jambo and Q FM are at 43% and 29% respectively.

The top stations in the country are;

#1 Citizen Radio

#2 Radio Jambo

#3 Q FM

#4 Radio Taifa

#5 Milele FM

#6 Kameme FM

#7 Inooro FM

#8 Radio Maisha

#9 Ramogi FM

#10 Classic FM
