There Will Be 770 Children Who Will Be Abandoned At Kenyatta National Hospital This Christmas. Here’s How You Can Help Them

There are 770 little angels spread across six wards at the Kenyatta National Hospital who might be spending their 2013 Christmas on a hospital bed, away from the comfort of their homes.

Some of these suffer various ailments while others have been abandoned by their parents who have been unable to cope with their children’s condition.

In this regard, Plume Consultants, in conjunction with the Kenyatta National Hospital, its partners and well wishers are hosting a seven-day Christmas celebration for the children in the wards.

Spearheading this project is Capital FM’s DJ Joe Mfalme, who plans to celebrate his birthday with the kids. For seven days, there shall be different groups spending time with the children, cleaning the wards in preparation for the main celebration on Sunday 15th December 2013.

Plume Consultants also intends to launch a funds drive geared towards purchasing 35 television sets which will be stocked in the wards. These will form part of a larger plan to eventually set up a media centre for management and dissemination of information in the wards. The TV sets will also act as a form of entertainment for the children.

ACTIVITIES
The children’s’ party will be carried out over a seven day period from Monday 9th December with a grand party on Sunday 15th December from 2.00 p.m.to 5.00 p.m.

Organizations and different groups are invited to take up one day each to carry out a cleanup exercise of the ward, distribute toys and other gifts alongside taking time to spend time and play with the kids.
