This Is What The Pope Had To Say About The Sonko’s Rescue Team.

In that admirable Kenyan spirit of common good, the Sonko Rescue Team was born. 

 The rescue team became famous for its swift response to calamities and the help it offered to needy Kenyans- in times of weddings funerals and accidents. 

Most notably was their input in the Huruma slums after a derelict building collapsed, trapping a handful of residents in the resulting rubble.  We cannot forget the help they accorded the late Mzee Ojwang’s family while the legend was being interred. 

The team was later disbanded and the cars donated to the city council after a conflict with the Kidero Rescue team.

Now last week on Friday when bidding the pope goodbye, the senator made fun of their interaction saying that the pope had spoke to him about the rescue team, calling for its immediate reinstatement. 

The pope is alleged to have told Sonko “sonknito sonkore rescuere teamento di reinsteto”   An Italian Patois interpreted by the senator himself to mean ” I call for the immediate reinstatement of the Sonko Rescue team” 

However, it is imperative to note that the senator was just making fun of the sonorous Italian that the pope is best known for.  Whether the Sonko rescue time will be reinstated in the days to come is a matter of waiting and seeing. 

“Avere una giornata fantastica”

That translated means “Have an awesome day!”
