On 28 December, 2014, a beautiful bundle of joy was born to a family which had prayed for a baby girl. This was the best news that happened for this family because God had answered their prayers. It was the best way to close the otherwise long 2014 and this family happily ushered in 2015.

However, unfortunately, Baby Ivanna Alusa (Baby Ivy), who was born healthy and full of life fell sick suddenly and when she was admitted in hospital she was diagnosed with a malrotation and volvulus which resulted in the necrosis (death) of the entire small intestine.

This completely changed the life of the beautiful baby Ivanna.

Since then Baby Ivanna cannot be fed by mouth but intravenously, something which is expensive and leads to more complications.

The little angel is currently in a critical care unit in the country and in need of an intestinal transplant to save her life.

The estimated cost for the transplant is KES 90million as she needs to travel to the US where the transplant will be done.

Kenyans have always come in handy during agonizing times. We have seen it happen before. This is no big deal for majority of Kenyans.
