High Court Pins Suspect in Mowzey Radio Murder

Godfrey Wamala alias Troy, the key suspect in the murder of Ugandan Singer Mowzey Radiohas been committed to High Court for trial.
Prosecution led by State Attorney Julius Muhiirwe informed Entebbe Court Chief Magistrate, Ms Susan Okeni that investigations into Troy’s case are complete and that he had instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to send him to the trial court.
Mr Muhiirwe told the fully packed court that prosecution had gathered sufficient evidence to pin Troy.

Further, prosecution evidence indicates that Radio allegedly poured booze on some people before a one Pamela Musimire and another person only identified as Ategeka intervened by taking Radio out of the bar.
No sooner had they got Radio out than Troy grabbed the singer and allegedly started beating him. After the beating, Troy is alleged to have run and hid himself in Kyengera until February 4, 2018 when he heard about Mowzey Radio’s death and handed himself to police.

DPP also intends to use exhibits like telephone printouts of calls made before, during and after Mowzey Radio’s death, as well as a sketch plan of De bar where the fight is said to have happened on January 22, 2018.
The Chief Magistrate consequently remanded Troy back to Kigo Prison until the next convenient session of the High court, for his trial to start.
Troy’s Committal has also been triggered by the relatives, friends and family of the late singer who keep storming the court demanding for justice to prevail.
