Ingrid Turinawe’s Confiscated #Togikwatako Goat replaced By Kanungu People

Ingrid Turinawe shared with everyone her joy, when the people of Kanungu, handed over three healthy goats to her. She took to her facebook;

“People of Kanungu surprised me by giving me what they called COMPENSATION. They told me, they were not happy with police stealing my goat, so they gave me three. They told me, to keep them safe, so that nobody touches on any of them again. They said it clear in Rukiga, HATAGIRA OWAGIKWATAHO. I am very grateful, MWEBALE MUNONGA OKUNSHUMBUSHA. Thank you so much #TOTAGIKWATAHO”.

Ingrid being given goats

Last week on Tuesday, her goat was kidnapped by the Police. The goat, wearing a red ribbon hang, and screaming dearly for it’s life, was taken away during a tug of war,  in which, its owner failed to rescue it.

The activist, and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) mobilizer of  the board was at Makerere University for a fundraising drive and the goat was to be an item on sale. However, Ingrid dressed her goat in red ribbons and this attracted police attention.

When they took Ingrid’s goat

The police moved towards the activist and took over the goat. Before this, there was a lot of drama as the two teams each pulled the animal towards them.

The people of Kanungu however made Ingrid’s weekend and gave her three new goats. This is Uganda.
