Police Warns Kirumira Against Social Media Resignation

There is a press release that circulated a few days ago, warning DPC Mohammed Kirumira against resignation via social media. The Police personnel, Kirumira, will be charged with around six counts.  Some of these include corruption, neglect of office, abuse of office, and many others.

“For any police wanting to exit the force, he/she should write to the Secretary Police Authority. Who is the PS Ministry of Internal Affairs. Once the matters raised have been put on the agenda, for the next sitting, they will be discussed in that meeting chaired by the Minister of Internal Affairs and a solution will be reached at” A section in the press release stated.

The police completely disregarded a Watsapp text sent by Mohammed Kirumira announcing that he is leaving office. They said he could be subject to disciplinary measures.

“Section 31 of the disciplinary Code of Conduct explains in detail grounds from which an officer can be disciplined one that officer has breached the conduct. It includes but not limited to interdiction and suspension.” It further says.

Today, police stormed the DPC’s house and arrested him. Police men forcefully entered his compound, and caused gunshots, bullets and as they tried to disperse the crowds.
