Why We May No Longer Miss Former KTN News Anchor Beatrice Marshall

She was one of the faces that underlined the face of the Kenya Television Network (KTN). She gave the Standard Group-owned TV station a dimension that was unmatched, an edge over the rest of the TV stations in the country and a profile that everyone admired.

The days of Beatrice Marshall, Esther Arunga and Michael Oyier as esteemed TV personalities working for KTN are long gone but we have always missed these guys.

While Marshall left to join CCTV and Oyier’s story still remaining a bit scanty, Esther Arunga resigned from her lucrative job, dumped her man who was planning to wed her and loved a man who has since then plunged her into more and more misery.

Quincy Timberlake is facing charges in Australia for the murder of his son. Esther Arunga was also arrested but later released with some stiff conditions.

Regardless, viewers still miss these individuals who looked more than dedicated on TV and who had zeal, verve and vigour to keep the country up to date with the latest happenings.

Beatrice Marshall was in particular eloquent and authoritative, more than the then KTN slogan spoke. She articulated words perfectly and her voice was sharp and piercing. Well, this and many more are the reasons why we have always missed her despite still working as a journalist elsewhere.

But it seems our ‘despondency’ and crave towards Marshall’s zeal has been booted away with the arrival of yet another prospect at KTN.

The presenter show season 1 produced Edith Kimani who has been in the station for quite some time now. Edith has not disappointed since her arrival at KTN.

Yet again, this season’s show is in line to produce another Beatrice Marshall. It started with close to 6,000 contestants and as it veers towards its conclusion, the show has 6 remaining.

Among this 6 one has been extremely outstanding and she is tipped to topple the rest to the awaiting job as a news anchor and reporter.

Mitchelle Ngele has been touted by many as the next Beatrice Marshall thanks to her ability to execute content exactly the same way as the former anchor did.

Having a nice grasp of the queen’s language, enough confidence that could take her into an Al Shabaab base in Somalia and a desire that is unmatched, Ms Ngele has impressed all along. She has not disappointed in the time she has been in the Presenter show as a contestant.

You may agree with me that she is not 100% complete but her ability is impeccable and she will only get better should she land the job with KTN.

Here is a clip showing her reporting skills:
