Willy Paul to Groove Awards: “I’ll Sue You If You Nominate Me for Any Award!”

It’s just a few months to the nominations of the biggest awards in Gospel scene, Groove Awards. However, a looming showdown is already threatening to overshadow the highly colourful event.

Over the weekend Willy Paul cautioned Groove Awards against nominating him for an award in any category and if they did he would take legal action. Speaking to the renowned Gospel singer, he confirmed that in deed he doesn’t want anything to do with Groove Awards this year.

“I don’t want to be nominated!” maintained Willy Paul.

“I’m against it. If they nominate me I’ll sue them! Don’t nominate me”, declared an unyielding Willy Paul.

Asked why he has taken the harsh stance, the 2013 Groove Awards Male Artist of the Year contends that this year he wants to concentrate on his music alone.

“Am taking my music international this year,” reveals Willy Paul.

He further reveals that he also wants to give upcoming artists an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

But that’s not all.

“I want to take time kujijua, my stand in the Word and chart the way forward for my career in music,” resolves the ‘Missi’ hit-maker.

But what did Groove have to say about this?

Well, we reached out to the guys at Groove Awards twice between 9AM and noon and the nice lady on the other end of the phone informed us that the guy who can comment about the same wasn’t in and that she was in no authority to comment.

However, she promised that they will get back to us as soon as the person in charge of the awards is back at the office.

Keep it here for Groove’s official rejoinder.
