Thanks to the growing matatu culture, people are no longer interested in boarding a dreary matatu with no cool graffiti or a good mix of music.

Nganyas are the new black and so the Matatu owners have been forced to up their game by bringing in new matatus with such ostentatious decorations, lights and loud music you would think you are at the club.

The loud music is usually provided by some sick mixes by Kenya’s Illest street DJs who get into the matatu game to open up doors to get into the clubs, events or the media such as DJ Kalonje or to simply make ends meet.

You know their mixes but few of us can identify their faces.
