Burna Boy Remanded in Police Custody, to Appear in Court Today

He is still being interrogated.

As earlier reported, singer, Burna Boy has been said to be connected to the robbery of Mr. 2Kay.

The Lagos State Police Command apprehended some suspects who implicated the singer as the brain behind the attack. Consequently, he was declared wanted by the police.

Burna Boy was on Friday reported to have been detained by the Special Anti Robbery Squad and has been there for days.

According to a source who spoke to Punch; “He is currently in the SARS custody and he is helping the police in the investigation. For now, I can’t say categorically what his charges will be but definitely they are related to robbery for which the other suspects were arraigned.”

The source however stated that the singer might not appear in court today, Monday the 18th because the police wants a solid case against him. Sources, however has disclosed that the singer will appear in court today, contrary to earlier claims.

“His statements are still being taken and there are more revelations. We don’t want to rush to court with charges that will be struck out for lack of evidence. The essence of prosecution is to secure a conviction at the end of the day. That is what we want to ensure.”

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti has confirmed that Burna Boy is in custody. The investigating Police Officer will come up with the appropriate charges, he said.
