Over the last weekend, singer, Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu stole the show at the Soundcity MVP awards. Attending the show on his son’s behalf, the proud mother walked upstage to receive four awards on his behalf. It was on this note that she won everyone’s heart with her acceptance speech as she received one of the awards.

Burna Boy is being lashed, slammed and blasted on social media after he called Nigerians “backward unprogressive fool”. The story all started when he called out Coachella for undermining his worth by not making his name bold. He also called himself a giant of African and there was both a negative and positive reaction to this. Unseeing this, he explained what he meant saying it came from his vision of African future. Another mixed reaction was generated by Nigerians and it didn’t sit well with the singer.

Yesterday, Nigerian social media was thrown into a frenzy after singer Burna Boy, wrote to Cochella to demand more recognition on their bill.
This was after the singer was named as one of the two singers that are billed to perform at this year’s edition of the event. The singer, thanking the organizers, noted that he isn’t pleased with the way his name is hidden among other names on the bill. He is an African giant, he said.
Taking to his Instastory, the singer has again, clarified himself on the reason why he said what he said. According to him, his message isn’t from a place of pride. It is from his vision of Africa’s future, he said.

As singer, Burna Boy’s response to Cochella continues to create heat on social media, filmmaker, Imoh Umoren has aired his opinion about the singer.
This was in a tweet where he compared the singer to Nigeria. According to him, both Burna and the country are African giants.
In a sharp twist however, the filmmaker stated that both giants are slightly overrated.

Afro-Pop singer, Damini Ogulu, known by his stage name, Burna Boy, seems to have found love as he shared loved-up photo of himself and an unknown lady.
The singer who earlier, made his intention to never get married known has now revealed the face of the lady in his life.
Sharing the photo above, the singer revealed that he has found the one. Well, except this is a publicity stunt for a new song, the singer may just be at the verge of changing his mind concerning marriage.
He however, did not say whether his stance has changed or not.

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has dished out some words of advice to his fans and other artistes who look up to him.

Burna Boy had a rare magical moment during his ‘Life On Stage Concert’ at the 02 Academy, Brixton.
In an attempt to perform his hit, ‘Ye’, the fans kinda gave him something like, “wait, let’s do it for you” and wham!!! they took over. Singing enthusiastically, they took the lines on the song, why the singer gave some joyous moves on stage. Someone even said they paid to perform his song for him.

What a gratifying moment for a highly underrated singer like Burna Boy.
Pop singer, David Adeleke, known as Davido has been in the news lately but this time, he is in the news for all the right reasons.
From his luxurious birthday gift to his girlfriend, to clinching a multi million Naira deal for her, and now, getting a private jet, the singer is obviously not here to play.
Though some followers are beginning to think that the singer is over doing things, OBO is not deterred. Such is the case of the follower who asked that the singer should be thankful, instead of showing off online.
Well, Davido asked him to “Shut up”, while Burna boy called him a hater.

Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer, Burna Boy reveals that he was the brain behind Drake’s song, titled, ‘More Life’.
According to Burna Boy, the song was one of the five songs he submitted to the Cannadian rapper for his ‘More Life’ project.
According to the Nigerian singer, he met Drake in London and their meeting led to working together on the project Drake was working on at the time.
Burna Boy made this revelation at the listening party for his forthcoming album titled “Outside”.
“I worked on 5 new songs for the project, and submitted them all”, he said.
Burna Boy stated that Drake later contacted him to tell him that his song “More Life” has been selected for the project.
Though the song appeared in a totally different form, it went to be the title of the entire album. Sadly the singer didn’t get enough credit for the song. More life was such a success that it that went on to become so huge. It made the top of the Billboard Hot 200 album chart and broke streaming charts.
Burna Boy would later feature on the outro of the album ‘Get it together’, which was a remake of South African DJ, Black Coffee, and Bucie’s 2010 single Superman.
The new version had UK singer Jorja Smith, singing about fixing a strained relationship. Burna Boy’s More life was reworked and sampled at the outro of the record in an almost unrecognizable form.
They told me they had picked it, but when the song came out it was…chopped..” He said.
The dancehall singer disclosed that he has moved on from the episode. The original version of the ‘More Life’ song written by him will however feature in his forthcoming album, “Outside”. The album is set for release on January 26th, 2018.
As earlier reported, singer, Burna Boy has been said to be connected to the robbery of Mr. 2Kay.
The Lagos State Police Command apprehended some suspects who implicated the singer as the brain behind the attack. Consequently, he was declared wanted by the police.
Burna Boy was on Friday reported to have been detained by the Special Anti Robbery Squad and has been there for days.
According to a source who spoke to Punch; “He is currently in the SARS custody and he is helping the police in the investigation. For now, I can’t say categorically what his charges will be but definitely they are related to robbery for which the other suspects were arraigned.”
The source however stated that the singer might not appear in court today, Monday the 18th because the police wants a solid case against him. Sources, however has disclosed that the singer will appear in court today, contrary to earlier claims.
“His statements are still being taken and there are more revelations. We don’t want to rush to court with charges that will be struck out for lack of evidence. The essence of prosecution is to secure a conviction at the end of the day. That is what we want to ensure.”
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti has confirmed that Burna Boy is in custody. The investigating Police Officer will come up with the appropriate charges, he said.
Singer, Burna Boy was declared wanted by the police few weeks ago. This was in connection with the robbery incidence at the Eko Hotel and Suits which involved Mr. 2kay.
Some of the perpetrators of the crime were arrested and Burna Boy was allegedly mentioned as the braiN behind the attack. This lead to the Lagos State Police Command declaring him wanted. (Read here) Soon, Burna Boy’s management put words that the singer had honoured the invitation. This turned out to be untrue as the police came out to debunk this claim.
The singer has allegedly been on the run since he was declared wanted.
A report by Vanguard However states that Burna Boy is currently out of the country. According to the source who spoke to Vanguard, he is currently in Botswana for a show. He will be back in December to honour the invitation, he said.
“Burna Boy is not in the country at the moment, but he’ll definitely be back in December because he has a show in Botswana on the 2nd of December, so he should be around after that date to honour the invitation.”
For the first time since the robbery at Eko Hotels and Suites, Mr. 2Kay has issued a statement on the rubbery incident. This is to clear the air on the incidence which involved fellow singer, Burna Boy and to make clear his stands.

We would like to use this medium to appreciate Mr. 2Kay’s fans for all their support and messages when he was attacked on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos where he performed at Buckwyld & Breathless, organized by Buckwyld Media. Like you may already know, Mr. 2Kay was attacked in his hotel room at gun point by four men who pretended to be the hotel’s room service attendants.
Mr. 2Kay was brutalized and robbed of his belongings. The robbers also took Mr. 2Kay’s friend’s items who was also in the room when the robbers gained entrance.
The management of Eko Hotel reported the incident to the Bar Beach Police station and an investigation file was opened immediately. After taking statements from Mr. 2Kay’s team, his road manager, Samuel Michael was detained for allowing Burna Boy’s manager, Joel Kantiok to follow him to Mr. 2Kay’s room after 2Kay’s performance that evening. Mr 2kay’s road manager was later cleared by the Police after interogation.
In less than 48hrs, we were told the Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi had requested for the case file as the case was transferred to Federal SARS Headquarters in Ikeja. In the course of their investigation, the Police arrested 3 boys who confessed that they were contracted to deal with Mr. 2Kay.
According to the commissioner, the robbers confessed that Joel Kantiok informed them of Mr. 2Kay’s room 0847 where they assaulted Mr. 2Kay. The robbers said they were paid by Burna Boy to “Teach Mr. 2Kay a lesson,” hence the Police declared Burna Boy wanted.
As lawful representatives of Mr. 2Kay, Grafton Entertainment would love to use this opportunity to clarify some of the information that have been going round in recent time.
1. Mr. 2Kay has not made any comment regarding the details of his attack at Eko Hotel on Sunday October 22, 2017.
2. Any other statement, quotes or opinion by anybody outside this official statement by Grafton Entertainment is invalid and inconsequential.
3. Grafton Entertainment through our lawyers and the management of Eko Hotel are in talks regarding the incident that took place in one of their rooms.
4. Our going to court is dependent on the outcome of the talks between our lawyers and Eko Hotel. The public will know if we get to that point.
5. Any further information about this case should be addressed to the Police as Grafton Entertainment did not conduct or influence Police investigation in any way.
6. This case about the robbery and assault with the police is a criminal case and not a civil case

The case of Mr. 2Kay’s rubbery which has involved Burna Boy still lingers and there are still some uncleared doubts. Even though Burna Boy’s management has denied the allegations, the Lagos State police has stated clearly that the singer is still on the run. (Read Here) This begs so many questions.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Mr. 2Kay’s manager, James Silas spoke about the issue. He stated that the case is now between Burna Boy and the Police. He also debunked reports that they sued the management of Eko Hotels, adding that they had no reasons to.
“The police commissioner has said it all. The matter is in the hands of the Nigerian police and there is nothing much we can do or say about it at this point. All the things the police said are true. We have no reasons to fabricate anything. The armed robbers said they were sent by Burna Boy.
“The industry is funny; so, we’ve have decided to handle the situation carefully. When the time is right, Mr. 2Kay will address the issue himself. But for now, we don’t want to be in the middle of all the drama. You can see that Mr. 2Kay has yet to speak about this issue.”
He, however, debunked claims that they sued the management of Eko Hotel and Suites, insisting that it made no sense because they didn’t plan the attack.
“I don’t think we have the right to sue the management of Eko Hotel, but they have been in touch with us. We saw the news; we don’t know where it came out from. They have not promised us anything and we are not expecting anything from them for now,” he said.
