Everyone has a different perception of who and what celebrities are. To some, they are mini-gods and are meant to be worshiped. Some think of them as regulators, that is they regulate what the social life should be like. Some others see them as humans just like every other person. Whilst some assume them as benefactors, philanthropist, and charity workers.

Because celebrities dwell on the limelight they are excused to be larger than life. Due to the exaggerated life they live, some mistake it as real. So they go on to them for help, believing they can put an end to their problems. But it does not happen that way, they can help some people not everybody. Celebrities that have reached out to Benue flood victims

Following the heavy downpour of the night of Saturday, the 29th of August 2017 which resulted in a terrible flood that displaced thousands of Benue residents, some Nigerian celebrities have taken steps to reach out to the victims of the flood.

Sending relief materials and canvasing for the support of charitable Nigerians all over the world, some celebrities have used their various capacities to reach out to flood victims.

Here is a list of some of those celebrities and what they have done to help.

First, let’s start with Benue State’s own, Tu Baba and his wife: this celebrity couple have donated food items to the camp of those displaced by the flood. He plans to hold a concert in December to raise funds for the victims of the flood.

Juliet Ibrahim is another celebrity that has reached out to the flood victims. She plans to raise Ten Million Naira for the #MakurdiFoodReliefChallange under the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation. The Ghanaian actress has however donated one million Naira to the victims. She enjoins her fans and colleagues to join her in this course.

Ubi Franklin Has also joined the league of helpers by donating to the #MakurdiFoodReliefChallange through Juliet Ibrahim’s Foundation.

Jim Iyke have also asked that those living in the United States who would love to send relief items to the flood victims should send him a message. He added that shipping the items to Nigeria will be free.

Other celebrities who have added a voice to the plights of the flood victims are: Jidenna, Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw, Blackface, Sheyi Shay, Niki Laoye and a host of others.
