Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie, yesterday, at the Exquisite Lady of the Year Awards which held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos.

Expressing her gratitude, the actress thanked the organizers of the awards. Noting, however, that she prefers to call her fans, friends, she says they deserve all the kisses. She is humbled, she said.

Curvy Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has not only proved herself as an actress to reckon with, she is also a successful mother.

Yesterday, her first and only son, Henry, clocked four. Taking to her Instagram page in the early hours of today, the actress celebrated the young man. Describing him as her hero, she wished him a happy birthday.

Mercy Johnson says he fills her heart with love.

Showering encomium on the young lad, Mercy notes all that her son is to her. According to her, a son is the anchor of a mother’s heart.

Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson is currently going all out for her husband who has been reported to be contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives.

When one speaks of a strong woman backing her husband to greater height, Mercy seems to be a definition of such.

The actress, in an Instagram post by her husband, Prince Odi Okojie, was seen wearing a campaign T-shirt and cap.

The Edo born politician, took to his Instagram page to talk about his vision for leadership. He however, noted that he is willing to stand for the truth against the odds.

The mother of three took time to reflect on life without her mother.

Nollywood actress and mother of three, Mercy Johnson Okojie, recently added a year to her age and to mark the day, she shared pictures of her new look on her Instagram page.

Reflecting on the past year, the actress, who recently celebrated her 7th wedding anniversary, reflected on the vacuum left by the death of her mother. According to her, life happens. She never, expected to lose her mum, she said, but it happened.

She wrote;

When you look into the coming year, you never plan for the worst. You always expect that life will have a way to make itself better…. Sometimes, like this past year has taught me, there are other plans… life simply happens.

I never expected to lose my mother so soon, and so suddenly, but it happened, life happened. 
No one can teach you how to cry with every fibre of your being and when exactly to stop crying.
No one can truly teach you how to properly mourn a loss or fill up the empty painful, endless hole that death leaves. 
No one can….No one has that power but God.. Soon, you learn how, How to draw strength from the eyes and the smiles of those that love and truly care for you, You learn to find peace in the breaths you take when you wake up and in even in the taste of pepper soup.
Sometimes you even learn from a comment or two or fifteen thousand.

You learn how to cherish the great memories you shared, the laughs, the tears, the prayers, the victories.

You learn that yes, life happens and yes sometimes we are powerless to change our circumstances.

But as long as we still have life, we will smile again, laugh again, love again and be born again…

Mercy Johnson has been able to find her feet again.

Following weeks of mourning the demise of her mother, Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson has gone back to filming.

According to her Instagram post, there is no shame in grieving as long as one makes room for other things. She wonders how people heal, she said. She however thanks her director for being patient with her through her mourning period. She is back, she added.

It looks like Mercy Johnson isn’t over the death of her mother yet.

When it comes to listing celebrity couples that celebrate each other on social media, Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Odi would be among the top of the list.

The couple who are known for sharing playful posts and tagging each other were recently thrown into mourning. This is as a result of the passing of the actress’ mother.

Though she has since buried her mother, it seems like she is not over her loss yet.

This fact was even made clearer by the doting husband’s recent Instagram post. Noting that she is just stepping out for the first time since their loss, he added that he wants his playful best friend back.

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has given a follower some valuable advice that will help her through her life’s journey.

In an Instagram comment, the follower accused the actress of not sharing her money. In reply, the actress stated that she works, advising the follower to do the same.

The follower wrote;

Social media recently went agog over an alleged crash of  actress, Mercy Johnson’s marriage. This was as a result the actress’ move to delete pictures from her Instagram page.

Social media was quick to interpret her action to mean that there was crises between she and her husband, Prince Odi. The actress then moved to share a picture of herself and her husband reading the Bible as she debukned the rumour.

Mercy Johnson is however not happy with bloggers as she describes such rumours as evil rumours from bloggers.

The actress said this in an interview with NET where she assured fans that all is well in her home.

She is quoted thus;

I usually delete all the pictures on my page from time to time and this time around, I didn’t just delete my husband’s pictures, I deleted photos of me and my children. In fact, my husband is in shock at the drama emanating from social media.”

We had a photo shoot and of course you know the new year swag na, so I said to delete the old pictures I had which is what I do normally, na im e backfire oooo.”

She therefore assured her fans that all is well with her marriage:

I will still celebrate 10 years with my sexy Odi by God’s grace and I appreciate all my fans for expressing their concern over the issue. God bless you all” She said.

It is little wonder that fans interpreted her actions the way they did as it has become a norm for Nigerian celebrities to delete pictures of their spouses on social media as an indication of marital crises. Many even take a first step to unfollow their partners on social media. This has often served as a first indication that all is not well in the homes of celebrities.
