Anele Mdoda rocks the Oscar red carpet

Anele Mdoda looks radiant as she graced the Oscars red carpet.

Anele looked breath-taking in a dress by Juan William Aria.

She was the Mnet host of the Oscars.

She took to Instagram to share some of the hiccups she experienced before the event.

This Oscar’s trip was not without drama from someone in this picture getting detained at customs for two hours with my dresses to another losing their passport and posing a real threat of not getting accreditation but it was all worthwhile and successfully.

Anele Mdoda speaks on hosting the Oscars

Anele Mdoda will be representing the country at the Oscars this month, as she take son the red carpet.

She thus spoke about what she has got planned, although she was keen not to reveal what she will be wearing. She has chosen her trusted designers, Juan William Arity and House of Fabrosanz to design her main gown and after party casual wear.

“Sonnyboy (hairstylist) and I are seriously considering dying my hair, but we will keep it short.”

For Anele, this is a major achievement in her career.

“It is the biggest awards show in the world. I love movies, and anyone in entertainment wants a place at the Oscars.”

She looks forward to meeting actor Rami Malek among others, and even plans to take a selfie with Denzel Washington.

“The trick there is to talk about his wife – he loves his wife!” she jokes.

She also plans to meet Taraji P Henson who stars in What Men Want?

A huge Beyonce fan, she hopes to see Queen B also strut her stuff down the red carpet. “She does not do red carpets anymore, but hey. 2019 is bringing some curves, so who knows?”

Anele Mdoda to host M-Net’s Oscars red carpet

On the 23rd of February, media personality Anele Mdoda will head to Los Angeles and host the Oscars red carpet for M-Net.

“I will be hosting the red carpet at the Oscars this year for M-Net and M-Net Movies,” she tweeted.

“Hosting the red carpet for M-Net for one of the biggest awards shows in the world is an absolute highlight for me.

“I have watched the Oscars every year and the most memorable moments for me were when Denzel Washington and Sandra Bullock won, and when Charlize won – and gave South Africa a shout out.

“This year I look forward to celebrating with the Black Panther cast as they head in with seven Oscar nods,” Anele went on.

“We have to speak to Bradley Cooper and salute his directing for A Star Is Born, as well as his performance in it. We must also get Spike Lee – who has an honorary Oscar but has his first ever nomination as director for BlackKklansman, which you can currently watch on Box Office. And then we hope to chat to Mahershala Ali who was nominated for Green Book and of course Glenn Close for The Wife. We also can’t forget about Rami Malek and Bohemian Rhapsody! And then of course, there’s the fashion!”

Anele Mdoda Sends Message To Late Mother

Anele Mdoda took to Instagram to share a message her father wrote to her late mother. This was on the day she passed on 10 years ago.

Her post was loud in a subtle way.
“Message from my dad on the day my mom passed ten years ago. #10years on! On this day, 10 years ago I made a covenant (umnqophiso) with God. He/She pledged to be by my side when I asked Him ‘what do I do now that you have taken my pillar of strength. As man, how do I handle nurturing and raising four girls at their tender age?'”

Anele Mdoda remembers her late Mum

Anele Mdoda took to Instagram to share a post on her Mum’s 10th year of her passing.

She shared a picture of her late mom with a message that she received from her dad on the day her mom passed on.

The sombre post is a prayer that Anele’s dad sent to the heavens when the tragedy fell on their family in 2009.

Message from my dad on the day my mom passed ten years ago. : #10 years on!
On this day, 10 years ago I made a covenant (umnqophiso) with God.

He/She pledged to be by my side when I asked Him ‘what do I do now that you have taken my pillar of strength. As a man, how do I handle nurturing and raising four girls at their tender age?’
Ghast winds (inkqwithela) have come and gone and left us standing. Wena Thixo, together with Amamfene and ooJola next to You assigned the best of angels to shine a light on our paths. More challenges may still come! Yes – we will fall but sure as sun coming from the East, we will rise again and again and again. To you Mphankomo, Jola, Qengeba – Gone too soon but never forgotten. We will always remember you. Amamfene are eternally greatful for the life we shared with you and the beautiful children you gave us! Anele Mdoda Gives Back To Society

Media personality Anele Mdoda has teamed up with cleaning brand Domestos to establish an empowering partnership. Their partnership will therefore see them build toilets for two schools.

This is to curb the infamous bucket system. The initiative comes after the death of a learner who fell inside a pit latrine.

The partnership with Anele is also open to the public and thus anyone who is willing to donate can do so by clicking on the link posted across Anele’s social media platforms.

 

Anele Mdoda makes huge strides

She was recently announced as the host of The Voice SA season 3. Now, she has added yet another stride into her journey of life. Following in the footsteps of content creatives, she is the proud owner of her own production company.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announced the news of the production company.

Anele now joins the ever growing league of women in media as founders of production companies.

Congratulations are therefore in order to her.

Anele Mdoda announced as the new host of The Voice SA

Anela Mdoda is the new Host of  the Voice Southafrica. She will host the third season of the reality show.

This is what she had to say about that experience.

Best of all, talent shows, especially those that give South Africans a time to shine, are my thing!

“I love, love, love The Voice. There is a very special camaraderie among the coaches, host and talent. Everyone does their best to make everyone else look and feel good. It’s friendly, it’s warm, it’s me! I am truly blessed that M-Net is giving me this opportunity and am excited to be there when red chairs turn to change people’s lives.”

Anele Mdoda shows excitement over being announced as host of The Voice SA season 3

Anele Mdoda will be The Voice SA season 3 host. M-Net made this announcement through a statement. Her new role therefore starts when Blind auditions start later this month.

“Sho, I still can’t believe I’m going to be the host of such a massive M-Net production. Since 1992, when my parents bought our first decoder, I’ve been dreaming of seeing myself on my favourite television channel. Best of all, talent shows, especially those that give South Africans a time to shine, are my thing!

M-Net’s head of publicity spoke of Anele as the best fit because she “chat up a storm, she’s a good listener and she makes people laugh – and shed a tear – without even trying”.

Anele could not hide her excitement and took to social media to further share it.

 

Anele Mdoda crowned the best radio personality in JoBurg

Anele Mdoda has been crowned the Best Radio Personality by the Best of Joburg Awards.

The Best of Joburg official Twitter page started announcing winners of the 2018 edition of the awards on Tuesday, visiting 947 to gift Anele with the Best Radio Personality award and crowning her entire Breakfast Club team with Best Radio Show.

Sharing the good news on Twitter, 947 wrote: “What a beautiful way to start the day! Congratulations to @Anele, the @947BClub and the #947Joburg team on this incredible achievement. Most of all, thank YOU, Joburg for your votes! [sic]”

Anele Mdoda shares her horrifying Uber story

Well we all have heard our own terrible Uber experiences and it seems our celebrities are not spared too.

Taking to twitter Anele narrated some of those horrifying situations.

This was after a fan asked her about her wildest uber ride.

Uber guy swore and threatened to hit me because he had been eaves dropping on my phone call and in the call I said I am Anele and on the app I am Zintathu and yena he wants a selfie with Anele. Literally got violent.

Anele Mdoda resigns from ‘Real Talk with Anele’

Anele Mdoda has resigned from her SABC3 show, Real Talk with Anele. Her final live show will be on 8th June, 2018.

Real Talk with Anele has, since the beginning of season one, been exceptionally close to my heart and I have been enormously proud to work with SABC 3. I feel, for my own growth, it is time to leave the show and to focus on my career ambitions and prospects.”

She has been on the show for two years and won the Safta for Best Talk Show in 2016.
SABC3 has suffered a loss in viewership since 2016.

SABC has said “it together with Cheeky Media wishes to once again thank Anele for her dedication on the show in the past two years and wishes her well in all her future endeavours.”

Adding fuel to speculation around the real reason Mdoda is leaving is the fact that the current season of the show, produced by Cheeky Media, is scheduled to run until the end of October.

“Anele has been an integral part of the show and an ideal personality for brand SABC3. The channel would like to thank her for the tremendous contribution, talent and flair that she brought to the show. We wish her well in all her future prospects.” said Aisha Mohamed, SABC3 Head of Bouquet.

Anele has not yet spoken out about any other reasons for her leaving show.

Anele Mdoda’s birthday weekend in photos

This past weekend, Anele Mdoda celebrated her 34th birthday. She matched her regal floral look with the cake.

Thembisa Mdoda comes to Anele’s defence

When Twitter dragged Anele for joining the I am Winnie Mandela Hashtag, her sister Thembisa Mdoda defended her.

Twitter users on Tuesday said Anele did not look anything like Winnie Mandela.

Putting the man who cyber-bulkied Anele, Thembisa wrote: “They need to read more and get a clue. There’s more to life than gqom lyrics and their search for humor.”

Together, they were able to defeat the troll.
