Beyonce finally shares photos of her South African trip

Almost 2 weeks after Beyonce visited South Africa she has finally posted the photos of her Trip.

And yes Somizi Beyonce had not blocked you.

The video, which was posted on Tuesday, was of highlights of her performance at the Global Citizen Festival.

The background song on the video was DJ Maphorisa’s iWalk ye Phara.

After settling in at home from a beautiful trip to South Africa and India, I am still in awe that 7.1 BILLION dollars was raised to aid Global Citizen in its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.
I’d like to give my praise and respect to all the speakers, performers, and volunteers who donated their time to contribute to making positive change.  Every person in the audience at FNB Stadium earned a seat because they generously donated their time to help their community. Now their efforts and the money raised will help improve education, healthcare, sanitation, women’s rights, and countless other causes for millions across the globe.
I felt so much positivity and pride in the audience at Global Citizen: Mandela 100. Madiba, Johannesburg, and all of my African sisters and brothers, we hope we made you as proud as you all make us.  South Africa was an extraordinary trip for me and my family. God bless.

Beyonce owns Coachella #BeyChella

Beyoncé made history as the first woman of colour to headline at the annual Coachella music festival.

Beyoncé commanded the stage with an incredible performance at Coachella on Saturday night, dazzling the crowd with a bevy of hits including “Formation,” “Sorry,” “Crazy in Love,” and “Drunk in Love.”

We’re still reeling from the ferocity, to be totally honest. One of the best parts of her set? When she brought out Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to perform a collection of hits such as “Soldier,” “Lose My Breath,” and “Say My Name.”

Beyonce confirms her role in the Lion King

Beyonce will be a part of Disney’s upcoming live-action version of its beloved animated film, “The Lion King,” the company announced on Wednesday.
The singer will be playing the character of Nala, a lion who is the love interest of the film’s protagonist, Simba.

Alongside Beyoncé – and mostly previously announced – will be Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role in the 1994 animated movie as Mufasa, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as his nemesis Scar.

Comedian John Oliver was confirmed as Zazu, while other big names in the production – set for release in July 2019 – include Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner.

A DIRECTOR’S DREAM

“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” said director Jon Favreau, who helmed Disney’s hit live-action remake of The Jungle Book (2016), in a statement confirming the cast.

The production will build on Disney’s hugely lucrative reimagining of that movie and several other classics from its vaults – including Beauty and the Beast, Maleficent and Cinderella – for contemporary audiences.

“The Lion King” is one of the biggest animated films of all time, with a lifetime global box-office gross of just under $1bn.

It won Oscars for the song Can You Feel the Love Tonight by Elton John and Tim Rice, and for its score by Hans Zimmer, plus two Grammy Awards, with the soundtrack selling more than 14 million copies.

The stage production made its Broadway debut in 1997 and went on to win six Tony Awards.

Translated into eight languages, the film’s 23 global stage productions have been seen by more than 85 million people. The worldwide gross for the brand exceeds that of any film, Broadway show or other entertainment title in history.

Stunning early footage of the live-action version shown at Disney’s D23 fan convention in Southern California in July climaxed in the iconic moment when Rafiki introduces newborn Simba to the animals of the savannah.

“This is a story that belongs to everyone who grew up with the original film,” said Favreau.

“I wanted to demonstrate that we could be respectful of the source material while bringing it to life using new techniques and technologies.”
