Slikour sends a heartfelt message to his wife

Slikour took to Instagram to share a beautiful tribute to his wife.

The couple is celebrating their first wedding anniversary and this is what slikour had to say about his wife

In a long, heartfelt caption, Slikour expressed how love and marriage has made him a better version of who he is:

“As boys we fascinated by how much money or how many luxury cars or material things others have. You then get married and your fascination becomes of something money can’t buy…..time. When you hear other people say they’ve been married for 20 to 30 years you look to them with so much fascination and respect for that time. Marriage doesn’t kill our dreams, love or innocence nor does it remove the challenges, temptations, distractions, complacency or any of our sins. Ironically it puts them all on a spotlight and it’s a path to confront our strengths and weaknesses with someone who has the time and faith to see you find the best version of yourself in the journey of life, with love being in the middle of it,” he wrote.

“So @melissa_iam my friend, my love it’s only a year of us supporting each other to be the best version of ourselves. As long as life wakes us up every morning it will be a life time task, i don’t only ask for time but the love to be constantly in between us in this journey of highs and lows. Happy First Anniversary and blessings to more time and love.”

Slikour and wife celebrate one year anniversary

October 2017 saw Slikour marry the love of his life, Melissa.

This past weekend, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Slikour thus took to social media reflecting on just how the past year has been for him as a married man,

“As boys, we fascinated by how much money or how many luxury cars or material things others have. You then get married and your fascination becomes of something money can’t buy,” read the first part of his message.

“My friend, my love it’s only a year of of us supporting each other to be the best version of ourselves. As long as life wakes us up every morning it will be a lifetime task, I don’t only ask for time, but the love to be constantly in between us in this journey of highs and lows. Happy First Anniversary and blessings to more time and love.”

Slikour suffers a leg Injury

Slikour took to Instagram to reveal that he had suffered from a leg injury.

He quoted the photo;I’m about to make handicap parking my bitch. I’m about to parallel park sideways on that mother****.

He reviled to the Juice on what transpired for him to have the Leg injury stating;”I was running at night and I was trying to get off the side of the road and get on the tar. Half of my foot was on the pavement and the other on the road. That literally bent or strained my muscle and something around my bone cracked. I had mad swelling.”

Slikour involved in accident leaving him injured

Sunday evening saw Slikour get into an accident. His foot was thus left broken.

The accident happened when he was running near his home in Johannesburg.

“I was going for a run at night and was stepping from the pavement onto the road. I thought my whole foot was off the pavement and on the road but it turns out half my toes were on the road and the back of my foot was on the pavement while I was trying to get on the tar. I felt my foot bend and a pain in my ankle area.”

Slikour did not think anything was wrong until he could not get up and walk. He is now set to recover within the next six weeks.

“I am on crutches for at least a month and a half. I’m able to move around with the crutches but I can’t drive so it makes it hard to do a lot of things.”

He posted a few images of his injury, joking about how he has to use the disabled parking area.

Despite his injury, Slikour is still busy with his projects.

Slikour opens up on his battle with depression

Slikour opened up on his battle on depression and also discussed on how he found it difficult to open up back then.

“I felt that maybe I need to die silently, and people need to forget about me.”

He revealed that this happened in 2010 and he did not know he depressed. 2010, to 2011, to 2012, I never knew. And I just needed to get away from everything. But I just thought that I’m just tired.”

Catch Slikour’s wedding tonight on Top Billing

Slikour married the love of his life, Mel, a few months ago. Today, we will get to see what exactly went down during the ceremony.

Earlier this year, the two made things official in an umembeso. They soon followed it with a traditional wedding ceremony, before the white wedding.

The white wedding was attended by many of Slikour’s and Mel’s friends. Among them, was the Top Billing crew.

Tonight, Top Billing will air footage from Slikour’s wedding.

Slikour and Melissa Wilkinson traditional wedding

The pair wore two traditional Xhosa outfits for the ceremony that were designed by popular local fashion designer Paledi Segapo and Andile Bhenya

Slikour told Tshisa Live the traditional ceremony was more sentimental to him than the white wedding.

“The ceremony was great. It had more significance to me because I had family around me that I hadn’t seen in a very long time. It was more sentimental and I really enjoyed it,” he said.

He said that he was grateful to have married his best friend.

“We knew that this was something we had to do. It was really something so special to marry my friend. We are growing together and are going to have our ups and downs but there is no better feeling than marrying your friend,” he added.

After celebrating two ceremonies in one month, the couple said they would take some time before they head out on honeymoon.

“We are back at work and maybe we’ll go away in January,” Slikour said.
