Being a gay couple especially in Africa is still considered taboo. In many places, it is said that God created Adm and Eve, and not Adam and Steve, or Eve and Eva. The subject is rarely talked about, if talked about at all.

Love them or hate them, lesbian couple Thishiwe Ziqubu and Mandisa Nduna are not going anywhere. Despite people’s disapproval after what they call expressing their love on a public platform, they appear unfazed.

A few months ago, the public was on them after they shared their semi nude photos on social media. They are back at it, showing just how much they love each other, by posting affectionate pictures of themselves, just as they are.

Speaking to the media, Mandisa appeared un-bothered, saying they would post as many pictures as they wanted to, and that people needed to be okay with that.

“More than the fact that we love each other, people look at us with raised eyebrows because we are not ashamed to express it. People are fine if we are together but on the down low, but hiding who you are is a dangerous game that neither Mandisa or I are interested in playing,” Thishiwe said.

The happy couple shared one of their intimate moments on Instagram.

They both say that from an early age, they were untypical in what they liked, and as they grew older, they realized they were both attracted to girls. Though they have gone through different difficulties that come with ‘coming out,’ they would not change their journey.

Regardless of people’s disapproval, all they want is for the public to be open-minded about such relationships.
