5 Fashions Trends We’d Like to See Male Celebs Rocking This Year

A New Year is the sign for a new wardrobe and after re-using your favourite dairy product tee and the Safaricom jumper won’t stretch its way through 2014 without giving you a lot of bad luck then it’s time to go shopping.

There arenew items and ideas that you might not really have considered before but that you might possibly be wearing this year. Here are 5 things I’ve seen at menswear shows that could be the next thing you consider adding to your wardrobe. Approach with an open mind.

  • The Double-breasted blazer

Bring back the 90’s with a Double-breasted coat. Double-breasted refers to a coat or jacket with wide, overlapping front flaps and two parallel columns of buttons or snaps.

A DB brings out the glamour and heritage that is a perfect gentleman’s style. Add at least one killer double- breasted suit to your wardrobe. Being on trend is great, but even better? It’ll quickly become your go-to suit on days you want to get noticed.

  •  Floral prints

Floral prints became one of the biggest men’s fashion trends for 2013, and they look set to become even more popular in 2014.

Men’s florals seem to be everywhere today; from Milan to Gucci to Prada. They all show off plenty of floral print suiting. It doesn’t stop with the tailoring: bold prints also appear on silk shirts and trousers, as well as cotton and poplin t-shirts worn under blazers.

But how do you avoid looking like your florist’s shop front?

One print per look: If one component of your outfit features a vibrant print, it’s best to keep the rest of your look a plain and simple affair.

Man bag

Any man of fashion knows that bags have become a necessary tool and style accessory. No longer seen as solely a woman’s item, men’s bags are masculine, attractive and ideal additions to any contemporary wardrobe. If you would like to dabble in the wide world of men’s bags, but don’t quite know which one would suit your needs best, heed this advice: Stick with a classic type of men’s bag, and you can’t go wrong.

Carry with: Casual weekend wear.

  • Neon kicks

Wearing neon is a fun, bold way to inject some serious color into your wardrobe.

Citrus yellow, hot pink and lime green are among the super bright shades freshening up winter wardrobes. Feeling a little colour shy? You can ease into the look with bold accessories.

If say you get a cool pair of neon yellow, you could pair them up with black skinny jeans rolled up, a plain white tee and a striped green shirt. The great thing about the casual look is that it elevated the shoes from sportswear to a more urban feel keeping the outfit modern and interesting.

Be bold and wear those neons.

  • Cowboy boots with shorts

A new styling idea which could take a year or so to sink in courtesy of very cool brand Hensch — named after its designer, Alexia, not scarily gym-buffed guys. Instead of wearing trainers or flip-flops with your Summer shorts, why not try cowboy boots?

Actually very flattering, aye?
