A Defiant Ezekiel Kemboi Vows To Reclaim His Medal From France As He Comes Out Of Retirement

The two times Olympic champion has decided to challenge France to a battle after he was stripped of his rightful medal in Rio.

Kemboi’s retirement plans were disrupted by a French athlete who was out to win an Olympic medal through a backroom deal.

Just after IAAF slapped him with the disqualification announcement, and robbed him of his bronze medal, Kemboi quickly threw away his retirement coat and started preparing for a major showdown in 3000m steeplechase.

The veteran athlete disclosed he will be contesting for a medal in 2017 World Championships in London. Kemboi says he decided to switch off the retirement button because he had planned to quit running having won a medal but when is plans were interrupted, he had to turn to plan B to retire in glory.

I had opted to retire right after the Olympics only if i had come home with this medal… now I feel that I have to bring back this medal not by protesting again but right on track. Kemboi is not retired I will be coming to London 2017 to re-claim my medal from France. No limits” 34 year old Kemboi posted on Facebook.
