Ala! Days after Nderitu Gachagua’s burial, newly appointed Nyeri Governor does this

It’s barely been a week since Nderitu Gachagua was buried and the politics in Nyeri have started getting heated up.

The man leading from the front is none other but the newly appointed governor Samuel Wamathai.

Today he made a behemoth declaration; the declaration that he had every intention to retain his seat.

He would also be keeping the current team at the office even though a new governor is given powers by the constitution to appoint his preferred team.

“I decided to reappoint them because I have confidence in what they have been doing,” he said.

Wamathai who was Gachagua’s deputy was sworn in on February 27, 2017 after the seat fell vacant following the death of Governor Nderitu Gachagua in a London hospital and he will be contesting on a jubilee ticket.
