Attention Kenyan Artists And MCSK, This South African Company Is Stealing Your Music! (EVIDENCE)

Trust that it would not be one of the moribund government agencies that would find out about this. They are staffed with 70 year olds too busy thinking about how to avoid the retirement ax and which water bottle goes better with which pajamas than they are about which Kenyan artists are getting ripped of by new intelligent cyber scams.
And trust that most artists unfortunately do not even know they are being scammed. So it fell upon Uncle Chim Tuna, God’s Chosen Blogger to speak up.

Kenyan artists are falling prey to a music entity based in New York called The Orchard which has begun steadily filing and claiming fake copyright infringement claims against anyone that uses them.
Case in point? Bahati’s Barua.
Bahati, the hottest star in Kenya at the moment has been going round Nairobi with the Form Ni Gani Tour inspiring young minds to hope and dream and more importantly, to keep nurturing and maturing their talents. When the video was posted online, this was the response:

And when I first received the notification, I had to do a back ground check on who it was that had claimed ownership. And I found that they are a company called Spice Digital which is an arm of Orchard Music based as you can guess, in South Africa.
And Bahati isn’t the only one I found to have been a victim. Tanzania’s Ommy Dimpoz has also fallen victim and doesn’t even know it yet.

Why is this important? Because we live in the digital age. When an international company copyrights your music, you lose the right to perform it abroad. And that is why both MCSK and individual artists need to sit up and take this seriously.

And Kenyans aren’t the only ones being taken for a ride by this company. Below are instances of Orchard Music’s tomfoolery:

Prevent false “Orchard Music” copyright claims of others for public domain material

As you can see, there are multiple complaints. So now, over to MCSK.
