Attention: Statement From Avril On News That She Has Ditched Secular Music For Gospel

Celebrity scuttlebutt has it that secular songstress Judith Nyambura popularly known as Avril has crossed over to the other side of the fence after she was spotted being prayed on and meeting celebrated Tanzanian Gospel singer Christina Shusho at the Catholic University over the weekend.

Many took to social media to congratulate the lass for getting saved and changing from secular music to gospel after she hinted at a collabo with Christina Shusho.

However, Avril has come out to quash the rumour that she got saved and that she has ditched secular music for gospel.

Through Kaka Empire, the label where she is signed, Avril has said she is not crossing over to the gospel camp. The label goes on to say that contrary to what sections of the media carried from the beginning of the week, the vixen is staying put in the secular camp.

“Avril met Christina Shusho over the weekend as she attended the Dreams Come True Initiative at Catholic University of East Africa on Saturday. She had been invited to speak as a member of the arts and entertainment industry,” Kaka Empire said in a statement.

The label went on to reveal why many are mistaking Avril’s meeting with Shusho for a shift to the gospel world. It said, “Christina Shusho invited Avril on stage and proceeded to ask her whether she would like to be prayed for. The singer did not hesitate and pastors in the audience came forward to pray for the artiste. While on stage the two discussed about working together in future.

On her part, Avril has shed light on the same issue, revealing why people should stop speculating that she has ditched secular for gospel.

“I have always been very clear about how my faith is important to me. I would not be here if it was not for the love of Christ, so I had no objection whatsoever for the intercession from such powerful people in the ministry. The events however do not dictate that my career and strategy had an overnight overhaul. I continue to live my life in Christ as I always have through the guidance of my pastor and my mother who every one who knows me, knows that she’s my rock in the word of God,” Avril is quoted as saying.
