Award-winning Kenyan Writer Returns Home To Launch Her Highly Anticipated Book

Kwani? Trust celebrates the 10th anniversary with “Reflections On A Decade.”

“Reflections On A Decade” a series of events with an aim to reflect their work in the literary and art space over the past decade.

One such event is “Writing the Distance: from Weight of Whispers to Dust” by homecoming Kenyan novelist, Yvonne Adhiambo Awuor. The interactive discussion will take place between 11.50 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. on Thursday, 28th November at Kenyatta University (Room 14). Yvonne Adhiambo Awuor studied English at Kenyatta University and TV/Video Development at Reading University. She has worked as a screenwriter and served as Executive Director of the Zanzibar International Film Festival between 2003 and 2005.

The 2003 Caine Prize winner will take us on a 10-year journey as a writer from the book that brought her fame to her debut novel, Dust, which will be launched at the Kwani? Book Party on Friday, 29th November.
