Blockbuster Film About Hijacked Mombasa Bound Ship Premiers Tonight

Captain Phillips premiers tonight at IMAX XX Century.

Kenyans get to be among the first in the world when it holds its world premier at midnight at the Mama Ngina Street cinema.

Directed by one of the most noted action thriller director, Paul Greengrass (Bloody Sunday, Bourne Ultimatum, United 93), it tells the true story of the first American vessel to be attacked by pirates in 200 years.

Tom Hanks takes on the lead role as the captain of the Maersk Alabama, which was on its way to Mombasa before it was hijacked by Somalis of the Gulf of Aden. Hanks and Barkhad Abdi, who plays the pirate leader, have both received Oscar buzz for their roles.

Captain Phillips has recieved rave reviews and currently holds a 94% rating on film review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes.
