Books, Music, Drink & Fun At The Kwani? Book Party Tonight

Kwani?’s 10 year anniversary, Reflections On A Decade, continues with more events planned for today.

After Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s lecture at the University of Nairobi’s Taifa Hall (2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.) today, the Kwani At 10 Book Party follows.

The event will see the launch of Yvonne Adhiambo Awuor’s highly anticipated debut novel, Dust. Nigerian literary icon, Chimamanda Adichie Ngozi, will also be there to present her latest novel, Americanah. The works of one of Africa’s most celebrated artists, Wangechi Mutu, will be on display, curated by Mbithi Masya.

The event takes place at the Marshall’s Warehouse on Loita Street from 7.30 p.m. Entry is Kshs. 400 at the door. For Kshs. 1,000 (to be bought in advance at ticketsasa.com), you get entry to the party plus a copy of either Dust or Americanah.
