Churchill Now Officially Joins the “Millionaires’ Club”

Churchill has become the first person to claim 1 million Facebook fans.

The veteran comedian is the first celebrity to reach the milestone on the social networking site, with 1,003,565 ‘likes’ as of April 9.

He has attracted over 16,600 fans in the past week, according to his page insights. He first took the mantle of most popular celebrity on Facebook after eclipsing President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013, making the comedian the most popular Kenyan on the social media network.

However, his closest competitor, President Uhuru, is not far behind, with 926,969 ‘likes’.

Churchill now joins the likes of KTN Kenya and NTV Kenya in the “millionaires’ club”.

 

Even with these impressive numbers, no living person (or TV show) is popular enough to be the most-“liked” page on Facebook. The top four slots are occupied by the Facebook for Every Phone app, Texas HoldEm Poker, YouTube, and Facebook itself in that order.
