Comparing Rabbit’s “Last Hope” and DMX’s “Last Hope”

In the past few weeks gone by Team Ghafla! has been comparing the similarities and differences between a number of controversial songs by our local musicians and international acts. HopeKid’s “Dream” has been compared with Popcaan’s “Dream” and gospel act Gloria Muliro’s “Follow You” has been compared to Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Follow”. Most of the feedback from Ghafla! readers is that our local musicians are “stealing” music beats from international songs and copy pasting them on their lyrics.

It was therefore no surprise when a Ghafla! Facebook Fan, Paul Kiboi pointed out that Kenya’s current Hip Hop King, Rabbit Kaka Sungura “stole” the song name, song lyrics and the beats from American rapper DMX in his latest release, “Last Hope”.
