DP William Ruto takes Uhuru’s armored personnel carriers to volatile Baringo two days after armed bandits forced him to flee (Photos)

Last Friday February 24th 2017, Pokot bandits shot in the air forcing those attending Deputy President William Ruto’s meeting to flee for safety.

Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet counties have witnessed a spate of violence in the recent days as cattle rustling has almost become a norm in the communities residing in the two counties.

William Ruto returned to the volatile Baringo on Monday 27th but this time round the DP was ready to face the bandits just in case they surprised him again.

Ruto to unveil additional 240 police reservists and Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) to combat bandits who have been causing chaos in Kerio Valley since March 2016.

The APCs Ruto took to Baringo were the same ones that President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned for the police at the GSU headquarters in Nairobi on February 1, 2016; Uhuru said they were to be used in volatile areas.

The president caused mouths to wag when he unveiled the third batch of the bad ass police vehicles at Uhuru Park on January 16th 2017.
