Finally, Kenya Gets Its First Ever Comedy Awards

The Cheka Awards is a new initiative that seeks to appreciate local comics.

The event will be held this Saturday, 19th OCtober at PCEA St. Andrew’s Church in Nairobi from 2.00 p.m. Regular tickets to the show will go for Kshs. 500 while VIP tickets will be sold at Kshs. 1,000. Book tickets by calling 0710 852 006.

The Cheka Awards will honour the country’s best funnymen and women by dishing out awards in 12 categories including King and Queen of Comedy, Lifetime Achiever, Best Radio Comedian and Best Reality Comedy Show among others.

Tonight, the organizers are holding a nominees luncheon for the event which is sponsored by Visionaire Entertainment, Cellulant, Tamic Production Services, Nairobi Sports House, Red Liquid Entertainment and ICEA Lion Group.
